vCenter physical or virtual?

Still a lot of people hesitate to make vCenter (was VirtualCenter) virtual. They have a lot of reasons for that.

Let me sum up the most common reasons people mention when they don’t want to virtualize vCenter. After that I will (try to) explain why you should virtualize vCenter in my opinion.

Visio Stencil for VMware Host & Cluster descriptions

After drawing another Host & Cluster configuration manually 

for a Technical Design I decided, enough is enough, lets automate this.

So a new visio stencil is born, nothing fancy but it does the job and you

can quickly draw a Host & Clusters configuration.  For example see the

picture on the right side.

Searching for a VM

One of the problems that most people have with virtualizing vCenter is that they don’t know where the vCenter VM is when there are problems.

There’s a fairly easy way to counter this problem.
